The Magic of the Cities.

Zen promotes the rediscovery of the obvious, which is so often lost in its familiarity and simplicity. It sees the miraculous in the common and magic in our everyday surroundings. When we are not rushed, and our minds are unclouded by conceptualizations, a veil will sometimes drop, introducing the viewer to a world unseen since childhood. ~ John Greer

Natura Morte

Toni Morrison:
Birth, life, and death -- each took place on the hidden side of a leaf.

Ralph Waldo Emerson:
The charming landscape which I saw this morning is indubitably made up of some 20 or 30 farms. Miller owns this field, Locke that, and Manning the woodland beyond. But none of them owns the landscape. There is a property in the horizon which no man has but he whose eye can integrate all the parts, that is, the poet.

I remember years ago when the talk of sending a man into space began. The discussion centered around who should be the first to go. The best answer I heard was to send a poet since he would be the only one who could accurately describe all that he saw.

Very sombre -- a very poignant photo.

Très belle nature morte un peu mélancolique.
