The Magic of the Cities.

Zen promotes the rediscovery of the obvious, which is so often lost in its familiarity and simplicity. It sees the miraculous in the common and magic in our everyday surroundings. When we are not rushed, and our minds are unclouded by conceptualizations, a veil will sometimes drop, introducing the viewer to a world unseen since childhood. ~ John Greer

No more little stores with own image, just chains of minimarkets, all the same, zero individuality.

Not sure what the ox and xo stands for but here, where I live, it used to mean an "o" was a hug and an "x" was a kiss. So is this a hugs and kisses store?

Awesome shot! I love the sence of motion added by the car, contrasted with the people in the doorway.

How did this homogeneity spread all over the world? But you did a fantastic job with the photograph and the motion in it.

I think Mexico has this chain store in every city in the country! Despite their convenience, I still prefer the small local vendors' shops! Who owns these tiendas?

Denton said...

Your description is all too true. On reflection I realize I shop mostly at franchises. However, my most enjoyable shopping experiences are a locally owned stores which still have character.

Carrol, You've outdone yourself with today's photo! It really captures the busy street life outside this corner market in the biggest city in the world. I love the action and ghosts. Wonderful night shot!

May not be a unique store, but your photographic treatment makes the image quite lovely and unique. Nice theme day photo!
